“The buildings in Cheyenne rise from the semiarid High Plains like trees pushing through a forest floor” was the description given to Wyoming’s capital city in the Travel + Leisure profile piece “This Wyoming City has a Bison Train, Old West Saloons and the Largest Outdoor Rodeo in the World.” The article outlined the best time to travel to Cheyenne and touched upon several traveling tips from places to eat and drink like The Metropolitan or Outlaw Saloon, to where to stay, recommending Little America and Nagle Mansion as two different options. There were also suggestions on what not to miss while visiting Cheyenne whether it be Cheyenne Frontier Days in July, taking in one of the museums like the Cheyenne Depot Museum, or getting a shopping fix at The Wrangler. Distinct experiences such as the Ames Monument and Terry Bison Ranch were given a nod, and ideas about outdoor adventures were included, mentioning Curt Gowdy State Park and Medicine Bow National Forest to name a few.
