There are always a few themes that emerge in the Young Strategy appointments and this year those seemed to focus on creating more efficient board meetings, updating plans, utilizing destination developments funds in the next round and developing experiences to enhance the overall visitor experience in destinations to increase overnight stays. After reviewing current strategic plans and board needs, plans are starting to be made to have Young Strategies back out in Wyoming this spring to meet with around seven destinations and their boards. There will be another round of in-destination meetings in the fall season.
It’s also a good reminder that lodging tax boards do not have to wait until their strategic plan is up for review or Governor’s Convention to utilize Young Strategies as a resource. The Wyoming Office of Tourism’s partnership with Young Strategies allows our partners to reach out about lodging tax questions, utilizing Destination Development funds, board development questions or even re-evaluating strategic plans in light of a changing tourism economy.
